Today we have a guest post from Anemay - https://twitter.com/AnemayJ
Archaeology has so many benefits for little ones. It’s a great way to facilitate outdoor learning by exploring archaeological sites. This is an excellent covid – friendly outdoor activity. A quick google search will show you archaeological sites in your area (and there’s bound to be some!)
Archaeology is a great excuse for children to ask questions, develop their knowledge and be inquisitive about the world around them. The Young Archaeologists Club is an amazing way to get kids involved in Archaeology. There are clubs all over the UK and an abundance of online resources that they can use whilst at home: https://www.yac-uk.org/join-a-club
Above is a colouring resource for kids (and adults) based on Pictish Archaeology. The Picts are a group of people who lived around the 3rd to 9th AD in the North East of Scotland. Women are hugely under represented in research and representations of Pictish life so my friend and myself decided to make a female focused learning resource. I hope you enjoy it.
Thank you Sarah for giving me a space on your blog and thanks to my friend Sally Mairs who drew the fantastic illustration.
Thank you Anemay for the great guest post & Sally for the fantastic colouring sheet.
Here are some more links to inspire you this summer:
Have fun!
Sarah
