I know this summer is going to be a bit of a strange one with plans and holidays cancelled or changed to make way for the 'new normal'. Whilst some venues remain firmly shut and your normal summer go to plans might be off limits it is a great chance to try some new family activities. To do that you definitely are going to need to be well informed!

Next week I will be rounding up family friendly heritage, culture & arts sites that are starting to reopen. For now here are some really useful sources of information for planning days out, getting ideas of what's on and seeing other families recommendations.

Kids in Museums are a fantastic charity that work hard to make museums more welcoming and enjoyable for children, young people and families. They have recently been highlighting all of the good things going on in museums with their top ten picks, read more here: https://kidsinmuseums.org.uk/news/

Fantastic for Families is a really high quality events listings site run by the Family Arts Campaign. They are just starting to list live events again so now is a great time to check it out.

If you are Midlands based then I would really recommend taking a look at Family Fun in Brum either online or on social media. https://www.familyfuninbrum.co.uk/

Try days out with the kids for lots of national ideas especially their round up of attractions that are re-opening: https://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk/blog/re-opening-list-of-theme-parks-zoos-more-opening-after-lockdown

Hope your find lots of inspiration for safe & family friendly fun days out this summer!

Sarah
